Just when you thought London didn’t have room for another pop-up-burger-van-turned-restaurant craze,
Lucky Chip get in on the ‘oh so 2012’ act. Move over
Meat Liquor out the way
Dirty Burger – there’s a new beef patty in town.

By day you’ll find Lucky Chip dolling out their wrist-drippingly juicy burgers to round-the-block queues at
Netil Market (where you can also get your fixie bike fixed, a cheerful hit of metal jewellery, screen print t-shirts and other such crafty wares). By night they have set up residency in the kitchens at the
Sebright Arms in Bethnal Green.

Juicy, delicious, good quality beef and best of all, each one is named after a different film star. Go for a simple Kevin Bacon (cheese and bacon – obv!) or be more daring with the Tom Selleck (cheese, bacon, roasted pineapple and a crispy onion ring – no moustache though). Or even the Daryl Hannah (a fillet o'fish burger).

Sides? Well you’re already going to have a heart attack here so you might as well dive right in and gorge yourself on the cheesy fries, chilli fries, or just plain delicious skin-on fries served with lashings of hot, hot, hot wasabi mayo.

All of this glorious junk is served on paper plates – I think it’s currently riffing as post ironic irony or something equally nonchalant and nonsensical. Yep, the art of making high-end stuff look grimy is the hot ticket to success out East. Smart/Casual in reverse.
Yes it’s all a bit hip, but the food is thumb’s-up tasty, so go on, get your hungry self down to Lucky Chip Burger at the Sebright Arms, open nightly from 7pm. Caution: we arrived at 7.15pm and the tables were all but one gone.
